We started Detail Shack out of obsession and frustration. After years in the detailing space, trying everything on the shelf and in the back rooms, we kept hitting the same wall: products that promised the world but struggled in day‑to‑day use. The talk was big; the results were not.

So we did what detailers do best: we tested, compared, and listened. We spoke to working pros and passionate DIYers, mapped out where shampoos, decontaminants, dressings and quick detailers were falling short, and took those findings to chemists who were willing to build from the ground up.

The brief was simple, if demanding: formulate for effectiveness, not theatrics. Less product, more result. Faster dwell when it matters. Safe on modern materials. Honest about what to expect. We iterated in the lab and on real vehicles, in summer heat, winter cold, coastal air and highveld dust until performance cut through the noise.

Today, Detail Shack exists to make high‑performance car care straightforward. We don’t aim to be the cheapest; we aim to be the most effective for the way South Africans actually wash, decontaminate and protect their vehicles. If it carries our label, it earned it.
